Day 43


Oh my goodness! It has been far too long since I have posted! The past couple of days, really this last week has just been a whirlwind. With all of the crazy weather and work I haven't been able to work out in a few days, but I'm planning to get to the gym before work, at least for a little while. Fortunately, even though I haven't worked out much this week my eating has been right on point. When I weighed myself this morning I found that I am now 227 pounds! I've lost 15.4 lbs. and I only have 7 more until I've reached my first goal! I've also lost 5% of my body weight, which is just crazy. I honestly cannot remember the last time that I saw a number on the scale in the 220's and I am so proud of myself. I know that I still have a very long way to go, but it's amazing to be seeing these results. I feel so much stronger, and more confident than I ever have in my life. I feel like I can do anything! My measurements today are 16 inch arms, 48.5 inch hips, 42 inch bust, 34. inch waist, and 30 inch thighs. Since I began tracking my measurements I have lost half an inch in my arms, 3 inches in my hips, once inch on my bust, an inch and a half in my waist, and an inch and a half on my thighs. I have noticed lots of small changes in my body and it just feels so incredible!


I've been looking through some old photos and realizing how different I really do look now. The picture on the left is from my birthday in 2010, and the picture on the right is from last Friday. I guess the difference might not be incredibly significant, but there is a clear difference. I pray that I can continue to stay strong on this journey, and hope that I am able to help inspire other people along the way. Thank you all for your continued support, I love you so much!

Day 32

This morning I woke up at three in the morning because I dreamed that I was late for work.I think dreaming about work is worse than actually working most of the time... Anyways for breakfast I had a quesadilla with two slices of chipotle cheddar and and two slices of turkey on a whole wheat tortilla. On my break at work I had steel cut oatmeal with cinnamon sugar, pecans, and strawberries. After work I had a half greek salad with chicken, a cup of chicken tortilla soup, and an apple. I took an hour and a half long nap because I was so tired. I ended up going to the gym on my own today, but I did have a good work out which was nice. I did half an hour on the elliptical (weight loss training), 100 reps on the inner thigh hip abductor, 100 reps on the overhead press, 100 reps on the vertical chest machine, 50 sit ups, and 20 triceps dips. Afterwards I had dinner with Kylla, Corey, and Heather. We had salad with spring mix, raspberry vinaigrette, sliced almonds, and feta cheese, and baked pesto chicken with whole grain pasta. Everything was really good. I also had a handful of carrots, a wedge of light swiss cheese, and 11 big wheat thins as an after dinner snack. It was really nice to spend some quality time with my great friends, especially when I am feeling so good about myself. I'm looking forward to having the next two days off of work and spending even more time with my friends. I'm trying to take more risks and be very brave about things, even though I'm finding it difficult. Hopefully it pays off in the end...

Day 31

This morning for breakfast I had a parfait with with low fat vanilla yogurt, sunbelt granola, and strawberries. At work a couple of people mentioned that I looked like I'd lost weight and looked good which is always nice. I didn't get a break at work, but after I got off I had a half chopped chicken Cobb, a cup of broccoli cheddar, an apple and a serving of Special K cheddar cracker chips. Around six Kylla and I went to the gym! It was really good to go work out even though I haven't been in over a week. We started on the elliptical for fifteen minutes and then walked/ ran on the treadmill for twenty minutes. The. I did 140 reps on the hip abductor that woks your booty, and 60 on the one that works your inner thighs. Afterwards I did 50 sit ups on the inclined bench. I was really proud of both Kylla and myself. For dinner I had a sandwich with chipotle cheddar, turkey, tapatio, and sour cream on a slice of while grain grilled with olive oil. I also had a raspberry salad with blue cheese, almonds and strawberries. I also had a stick of sugar free strawberry shortcake gum. All around it was a good day, and I'm excited for many more like it.

Day 30


It's been a month since I started my journey and I could not be more proud of myself! Today I weighed in at 232.4 lbs. I have lost ten pounds so far! My measurements are now arms 16 inches, bust 43 inches, waist 35.5 inches, hips 49.5 inches, and thighs 30.5 inches. I know that I still have a really long way to go, but it's great to see all of the little changes in my body and I know now that I can do anything.

 


For lunch I had a burger with provolone, fat free sour cream, tapatio, and jalapeƱos on a slice of whole grain bread. Later I made a smoothie with strawberries, peaches, skim milk, fat free sour cream, Truvia, and cinnamon. For dinner I definitely ate too much. I had a large portion of asiago tortellini with spinach and mushrooms, and two slices of whole grain bread with olive oil and garlic. I probably should have eaten about half of what I did. This week I'm only working mornings so hopefully I will have some extra time to work out, because I definitely new tiger back on track with that. Otherwise I'm feeling really confident and excited about the future!

Day 29

Today was good. I weighed myself and took measurements and I'm impressed with my results so far. Before work I made myself a patty melt with ground beef, a slice of provolone, fat free sour cream, and tapatio on a slice on whole grain bread. For lunch at work I had a cup of chicken tortilla soup, a half chopped chicken Cobb, and an apple. After work I went home to visit my cousin, mom, and brother. For dinner we had carne asada and pollo asado. I had two small corn tortilla tacos with chicken, one flour tortilla with beef, all with cilantro, tapatio and beans. As dessert I had a fried flour tortilla with cinnamon and sugar. It was really nice to spend some time with my family even though it wasn't for that long. I was also proud of myself for not overindulging in all of that delicious food.

Day 28

Today was a really good day. Not necessarily food-wise, but other than that it was really fun. For breakfast I had a bowl of Honey Bunches of oats with raisins. Then we went bridesmaids dress shopping. I tried on the size 16 and not only did it fit, but it was actually a little loose! For lunch (at Outback), I had a couple of slices of the brown bread with a little butter, a little bit of cheese fries and ranch, a cup of baked potato soup, and a California chicken salad (it had feta and apples). I was very full afterwards. We also went shoe shopping, and to the mall. I got three pairs of shoes (plus the ones for the wedding, which we had to order), and a new purse! For dinner I had a Whataburger plain with cheese, and fries. Then I had half a Panera chocolate chipper cookie. I didn't drink any soda though, and I stayed within my PointsPlus budget for the week.
