Day 8

This morning I went to WalMart and bought myself a decent scale so that I could weigh myself at home. I'm happy with the scale that I bought, however I am not happy about the number on it this morning. I know that the numbers are going to be different because it's a different scale, I haven't eaten the best the last two days, and there are natural fluctuations in body weight, but I still expected to see a number in the 230s. Instead I weighed in at 242.4 lbs. I was really disappointed by this and immediately wanted to eat something terrible for me, which was not aided by the fact that I had been awake for a couple of hours and had yet to eat breakfast. Instead of having something bad, I ate a strawberry granola parfait, and drank green tea. Then I had a cookie (oops). For lunch I had a mozzarella and jalapeƱo omelette and half a single serve bag of sun chips. This afternoon I went to the Colvin with Destinee and Emily, and had a much needed work out. I'm very proud to say that I was called a beast whilst at the gym, even if it was just by Emily. We started on the stationary bikes, where I did ten minutes of fat burn, and fifteen minutes of cardio. Afterwards we headed downstairs, where I used the hip abductors, row machine, and one where you push your arms out (I can never remember its name, but it works the biceps, and triceps). Then we worked on abs. I did two sets of fifteen sit ups and one set of ten on that upside down bench thing. I also did three sets of fifteen tricep dips in between. All of this was followed by stretching, naturally. I felt pretty amazing after my workout, and a lot better about that number on the scale. I decided that the numbers aren't what's really important. Of course I want to see results, but I know that's going to take some time. The main thing is that I am making steps towards change, and feeling really good about them. For dinner I had a small portion of whole wheat linguine with tomato sauce and ground turkey, sprinkled with a little Parmesan. Then I had another cookie (oops again...) After dinner I made some hot chai tea with skim milk and Truvia. It was delicious. Now I'm looking forward to my early morning workout, and cleaning my bedroom tomorrow.
